Joshua Eddings:
Trans-Media Artist and Storyteller
I am a “Sputnik kid” with over half a century of experience in technology, from watching the first manned space flight on a black-and-white TV to creating contemporary XR/360 media. My journey spans transistors, early personal computers, the Internet, and community media.
I also have experience in print- from letterpress, book publishing to experimental printmaking.
My artistic practice is a journey across the American West, exploring the profound sense of place embedded in its varied landscapes. Through my travels, I document history and environment, collecting stories, photos, scans, and XR media from locations where I feel a powerful connection.
As an Elder of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, I have witnessed seven generations of my family. I now create trans-media storytelling projects that convey our living traditions and cultural identity across generations, forging a resilient narrative bridge that will sustain—and evolve—these practices for the next seven generations.
